In Pennsylvania, drivers have two options when choosing auto insurance coverage:
Full Tort
Limited Tort
Let's examine both of these choices more closely.
LIMITED TORT
With the limited tort option you waive your right to sue the other driver for pain and suffering. This is a very important aspect. You may not realize the complications of this choice if you have never been in an auto accident. Many people will choose this option because they do not understand the "insurance jargon", try to save money on their insurance or simply do not think that they will ever be involved in a car accident. By selecting Limited Tort you exposing yourself and your family to pain and suffering and also sacrifice the protection of anybody who is a passenger in your vehicle at the time of an accident. Our accident lawyers have been contacted by people with limited tort trying to collect money for their suffering. Unfortunately we were not able to help them. We want you to fully understand that by choosing Limited Tort you are exposing yourself and your family to significant risk.
FULL TORT
The Full Tort option allows you to recover money for your suffering, should you be involved in a car accident. With this option you will not have to worry about your and others health and injuries. The extra money you pay for your insurance policy will be well worth it. Master & Weinstein P.C recommends that all drivers choose this option with their insurance coverage. Please keep in mind that Full Tort can be added or removed from your policy at anytime. |
